BOTTGER RED STONEWARE TEAPOT. This wonderful small figural teapot is in the form of a peafowl, the curled tail is the handle and the spout is it's neck. J.F. Bottger invented this fine red stoneware while working on a porcelain formula, which he eventually succeeded in producing for the Meissen factory. Size is 6.5" long x 4.25" high, circa 1720.
