BOLIVIA, Potosí, pillar 8 reales, Charles III, 1769 JR, dot after CAROLUS, very rare, with chopmarks from circulation in Asia. Janson-58.3.7; Yonaka-P8.69d; KM-50; Cal-1165. 26.62 grams. Beautifully toned VF with deep punchmark in center and five large chops in addition to several small ones, scarce host and actually a very rare variety with pellets around mintmarks, round-bottom 9 in date, four-petal flower at bottom of shield side, and dot (stop) after CAROLVS (rated R3 in Yonaka).
