Paris, Jacques Macé, 1567, 12mo, old vellum over boards, endpapers renewed, [12]-190-[6] ff. (some lvs. browning, title soiled and with small blank pieces of corners torn off, a few printed marginalia shaved, some paper flaws, tear in R3, dampstain in last quires). Good copy. Cfr. ill. € 1800/2200 Apparently unrecorded edition (different collation from the ed. described by Mortimer and Index Aureliensis). Pierre Boaistuau's book on wonders and monsters, 1st published 1560, was a great succes in the late 16th c. Preliminaries contain French and Latin poetry by i.a. Joseph Scaliger and Jacques Grévin.
