BO SHAN LU (incense burner)
Han dynasty (206 BC-AD 220), China. Having a domed lid in the shape of mountain peaks, the body with moulded relief band of horses and other animals, supported on three bear-form feet. Covered in green lead glaze overall except interior of red-bodied earthenware lid. (This type of incense burner is also known as a Ôhill jar' because of the peaks on its lid.)
