Jonas "Olof" Grastrom was born in Sweden and studied at the Fria Art Academy in Stockholm. In 1886 he relocated to the Pacific Northwest, moving from Portland, Oregon to Spokane, Washington and finally returning to his homeland in 1928. Grafstrom is best known for his landscapes of the American West.
