BERT STERN (1929-2013): MARILYN MONROE IN VOGUE FOR SEPTEMBER 1962 EDITION.
Photographer Bert Stern opened up about the three-day session he spent with Marilyn Monroe for her Last Sitting for Vogue (1962), just six weeks before she passed away. The photo shoot was commissioned by Vogue magazine. Surprisingly, Marilyn had never appeared in Vogue, and at that time Bert had a contract with the magazine that gave him the freedom to do whatever he wanted with 8 pages. He wanted Marilyn. He felt that there had not yet been one immortal black and white photograph of Marilyn, and it was his destiny to make that happen.

Marilyn in black dress is one of Bert's most sort after photos. Signed and copyright stamped on verso by photographer Bert Stern. The digital image measures 13.25x11.25 inches on 13x19 inch matte paper, and is supplied with a Bert Stern coa, housed in a wooden frame. The perspex has a few scratches.
