In Texas she studied with Jose Arpa, Xavier Gonzalez, and Rolla Taylor. Known for her adventurous spirit, Emeree was fearless in traveling alone in her car, camping out in the open in often dangerous areas. She was known to finance her adventures by trading her paintings for gasoline or food.<BR><BR>This painting is inscribed: <I>This was accepted at a big exhibition in San Antonio, Texas given by a big oil man. They wired Berla to come to the banquet and she went.</B></I><BR><BR>A letter of provenance from the artist is included with the lot.<BR><BR>Provenance:<BR>Mr. & Mrs. Everett A.R.
