CABINET. Late 19th, early 20th century. This lovely ornate cabinet in two parts; the upper case with molded cornice above a frieze carved with scrolling leaf tips in deep relief: a small carved cherub’s head at the center flanked by busts of Elizabethan style masks. Cabinet with a pair of doors; each with 5 glass panels with angular geometric moldings, flanked by two glass panels on each angled corner. The case sides each with two glass panels enclosing an interior with mirror backs and two oak shelves. Upper case is set back on the lower conforming case fitted with a long drawer with center mask and gadroon carving. A pair of carved solid panel cabinet doors, each with leaf carved cartouche within molded borders flanked by tapering architectural pilasters further flanked by two raised panels on the front and two conforming panels on case sides. All on a molded plinth raised on compressed ball feet. SIZE: 73" h x 56 1/2" w x 20" d. CONDITION: excellent. (05-215/JJ). $1,000-2,000.
