From his Headquarters of the 1st Brigade, IL Volunteers, Prentiss writes to Colonel Schittner requesting that arms and munitions seized from a prominent local landowner, Mr. Bird, be returned. “...<i>Whilst I am pleased to find that you are on the look out and vigilant in performing your duty, I regret that this seizure was made untill you had conversed with Mr. Bird... From the invoice I am disposed to believe that he had those articles for his defence as it is usual for Planters to be supplied with them to preserve order and keep down insurrection... if I am correct return the articles otherwise you can keep them at your encampment.</i>..” Boldly penned and signed adding rank, “<i>Brig Genl.</i>” Fine example.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
