You are bidding on the front side of a 1937 "Short Snorter" $1 note.  So the story goes, Short Snorter notes are signed by everyone in an army unit.  Given the era of the piece, this was most likely a unit from the second world war.  This particular piece in only the front side, for the back and front of this note, as can happen with 1937 issued notes, have been separated.  The note is in well worn condition, which is usually the case with short snorters for, theoretically, they were kept on someone's person at all times.  A very interesting piece of history.
