BC-11 $25 1935
BC-11 $25 1935
The $25 note was a special commemorative issue honoring the Silver Jubilee of the reign of King George V and the only note of the issue to bear dual portraits. It is the only denomination in the 1935 series to bear a distinct issue date, and was the first to be withdrawn, after circulating for only two years. By 1942, fewer than 2000 of these notes had escaped withdrawal and cancellation. English Text examples are scarce in all grades and rare in strictly uncirculated condition, while French Text specimens, with an issue of only 20,000 pieces, are rare in all grades. The Flynn English Text specimen is one of this collection's standout notes, having been graded Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ by PMG. It is a beautifully well centered example with blazing colors and incredible eye appeal. Expect some spirited bidding between collectors seeking the finest before the hammer falls on this lot.
From The Thomas M.
