(1745 - 1807) Officer during the battle of Lexington, his contingent from Woburn was the first to ambush the British during their retreat from Concord at the ""Bloody Angle"" killing 9 of 10 the British officers in the leading companies. Eventually rose to Colonel seeing action in Long Island and Trenton, but was forced to retire in 1777 due to failing health. Manuscript D.S. 1p. oblong 4to., Boston, April 20, 1787, on the verso of a legal document appointing him and two others as arbitrators. The text on the verso deals with their judgment in the matter.
