BADEN: Leopold I, 1830-1852, AE kreuzer, 1856, KM-232, with Leopold's title as Grosherzog (Grand Duke), a lovely lustrous chocolate brown mint state example! PCGS graded MS63 BN, ex Joe Sedillot Collection. In 1856, Baden was under the regency of the reform-minded Prince Frederick, who oversaw a period of relative calm and cautious liberalization after the repressive post-1848 years. While still conservative, Baden began taking steps toward modernization and moderate reform.
