BADEN: Friedrich I, 1856-1907, BI 3 kreuzer, 1866, KM-246, C-150, produced with rusted dies, a lovely lustrous argent mint state example! PCGS graded MS63, ex Joe Sedillot Collection. In 1866, Baden supported Austria in the Austro-Prussian War but was defeated and forced to realign with Prussia. This marked a turning point, as Baden began its shift toward joining the Prussian-led North German Confederation. The decision set the stage for its later inclusion in the German Empire in 1871.
