This black-white photography shows a German cosmonaut and the first German in space, Siegmund Jähn in the NVA-uniform together with the Soviet sport commissar, Ivan Borisenko, standing next to three other persons. Ivan Borisenko, a high-ranked Soviet official, also became famous due to his role after Gagarin’s first flight into space. The photography was made in the USSR in 1978, the year of Jähn’s flight into the space. Additionally, there is a poster commemorating the historic cooperation between the USSR and the GDR. The poster was made in 1978 in the GDR. It shows the earth with the flags of the GDR and the USSR, around which the Soyuz capsule with the title “together on the earth and space” is circulating.

The photography’s reverse is inscribed with “S. Jähn / Borisenko” and has dimensions of 19.7 x 14.8 cm. It is in very good condition and shows traces of age and use. The poster is in very good condition with traces of age and use. It is framed and has the dimension of 59 x 43 cm.
