B.S.A. Magazine Lee-Enfield Mark I Bolt Action Rifle

Manufactured at the turn of the 20th century. Blade front and folding rear sights, with 5 inlaid platinum sighting lines on the elevator, a dial type volley sight on the left side of the stock, and the matching flip-up peep rear sight on the left side of the frame. The stock socket is stamped "B.S.A.Co." on the right, with "A0804/22881", "E" (Enfield rifling) and "FOR/CORDITE/ONLY" on the chamber, integral dust cover and striker-mounted safety on the bolt, sliding magazine cutoff and chain-secured detachable 10-round magazine. Smooth stock, properly without provision for a cleaning rod (a change made circa 1899 in favor of pull-through bore cleaners), fitted with a bayonet lug, sling swivels, and a brass buttplate with a bore cleaner in a steel butt trap.

Fine, with 75% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, mild spotting and scattered handling marks. Some extensive pitting is present on the barrel, magazine cutoff, and around the front barrel band. Stock is very good, with some fogging of the varnish and mild dents. Mechanically excellent.
