B.S.A. Co SMLE No 1 Mk III .410 Musket
SN: 11450 Indian military bolt action single shot shotgun chambered for the .410 Mk 1Z cartridge. Rebuilt in 1949 by R.F.I., utilizing an English made SMLE No 1 Mk III rifle. Features a blued finish, 25.2" barrel, 1907 style bayonet with scabbard & frog, raised patridge front sight, shrouded leaf type rear sight graduated to 2,000 yards, metal nosecap with protective sight ears, single barrel band, serrated trigger, wood filled magazine well, manual safety on the left side of the receiver, tan canvas sling, charge loading bridge on the receiver, full length smooth wood hand guard & forend, and straight grip shoulder stock with brass trapdoor buttplate. The right side of the butt socket is marked '[crown]/GR/BSA Co/1914" & "Sht L E/III" and the left side is market "410/RFI/1949" Serial numbers match on the receiver, bolt handle, rear sight, nose cap and forend. Rifle exhibits approximately 99% of its blued finish with very little wear. Action is smooth, the bore is excellent and the wood stocks are near fine showing old repairs.
