'No. 2 Mk IV*' British military single shot bolt action training rifle converted from a 1917 vintage SMLE Mk III* service rifle. Imported by C.A.I. of St. Albans, V.T. with import marks on the right side of the receiver. Features a black painted finish, 25.2" Parker Hale marked barrel, raised blade front sight, tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 yards, metal nose cap with protective front sight ears, bayonet lug & piling swivel, serrated trigger, hollowed .303 magazine that acts as a brass collector, manual safety on the left side of the receiver, tan canvas sling, integral charge loading bridge on the receiver, smooth full-length wood handguard & forend, and straight grip shoulder stock with blank stock disk & brass trapdoor buttplate. The right side of the butt socket is marked "[Crown]/G.R/B.S.A. Co/1917" & Sht. L.E/III*" and the bolt head is stamped ".22No2C". Serial numbers match on the receiver, bolt handle, and nose cap. Rifle retains approximately 90% of it's black paint finish showing mild wear. Action is smooth, the bore is semi-bright with good rifling & some pitting towards the muzzle and the refinished wood stocks are good as shrunken in areas.
