Russian-born author (1905–1982) who famously espoused an ‘objectivist’ philosophy. Her novels and philosophical works, including The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged, take a place among the most influential literature of the 20th century. Signed book: Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal. First edition. NY: The New American Library, 1966. Hardcover, 5.75 x 8.5, 309 pages. Signed in blue ballpoint on the first free end page, “Ayn Rand.” Faint creasing touching her last name, the front board partially separated along the hinge, paper loss to the inside front cover, two light pencil notations on the signed page, and evidence of a removed gift inscription beneath the signature, otherwise fine condition. A neatly signed example from the controversial author.
