This Japanese majolica vase and matching stand likely date from the early 20th century, and likely come from the island of Awaji. Vase measures 17.5" across and 10.5" high, and stand measures 10.5" wide and 27" high. Total height is 37.5" Total weight is approximately 30-40 lbs. The dominant color is yellow with streaks of black, green and red. Wrap-around raised dragon motif on both pot and stand. Stand is supported by three fish at the base. There are no hallmarks. Stand is in excellent condition and doesn't appear to have any restorations or damages. The pot has a restoration along the rim and there appears to be over-painting to the dragon. There is also hardened residue around the entire circumference of the foot which may have once been flexible material intended to secure the pot to the stand. Thanks for visiting.
