Unique 1933 airport register from Floyd Bennett Field in New York, 15 x 11.5, filled out on the first five pages and signed by many different pilots, noting time of arrival, make and type of airplane, name of owner and pilot, license number, passengers, origin and destination, and other details. Particularly notable signers include: Amelia Earhart, Wiley Post (2), Frank Hawks (2), and Roscoe Turner. Among the types of aircraft listed are Lockheed, Sikorsky, Bleriot, Douglas, Bellanca, Ryan, Martin, Keystone, and Boeing. In fine condition. Post, whose two entries seem to be from March, would take off from Floyd Bennett Field on June 15, 1933, in an attempt to make the first-ever round-the-world solo flight. Seven days, eighteen hours, and fifty minutes later, he landed back at Floyd Bennett having accomplished his goal. An exceptional, one-of-a-kind piece chronicling a brief period of this important airfield’s early history.
