First Edition (152pp., hard) This rare book is inscribed in ink inside the first page: "Best Wishes to Fred & Roy. signed Fred J. Olivi, Co-pilot "Bockcar (sic)", 9 August 1945". Printed behind the title page is the inscription "To the Crew of The Great Artiste: Sweeney / Albury / Van Pelt / Olivi / Beahan / "Nails" / "Buck" / Ray / "Pappy". Someone has written in pencil beside each name the person's crew title.

Bockscar, sometimes called Bock's Car or Bocks Car, is the name of the United States Army Air Forces B-29 bomber that dropped the "Fat Man" nuclear weapon over Nagasaki on 9 August 1945, the second atomic weapon used against Japan.

A rarely seen, fascinating book.
