Bill signing pen and DS, one page, 9 x 15, April 24, 1958. Official cork-gripped dipping pen made by the Reliance Pencil Co., used by Governor Harriman in "approving Assembly Bill, Introductory Number 1035, Print Number 1035, by Mr. Waters, entitled: 'An Act to amend the education law, in relation to the appointment and duties of attendance supervisors, attendance teachers and attendance officers." The document describing the pen is signed at the conclusion in ink by Averell Harriman and countersigned by his secretary, Jonathan B. Bingham. The gold foil seal affixed to the lower left corner remains intact. Framed to an overall size of 11 x 17. The pen has slipped from the purple ribbons holding it against the document, but the piece is otherwise in fine condition, with wear to the original frame.
