Mechanical music automaton "The Clown Little Tich", 1910, by Roullet & Decamps, Paris. Fantastic artistic design: The clown knocks with his long shoes on the floor, winks with his eyes, bows forward and greets the audience with a charming gesture. Head in mass, glass eyes, real hair and original dress (trouser and jacket a bit worn out, but still superb original condition). 29 in. high. - Works extraordinarily good! - Roullet & Decamps, Paris, were the world's leading manufacturer of doll automata some 100 years ago. - Literature: "Automata - The Golden Age", by Christian Bailly, 1987, p. 21, 142-3. - Today it's nearly impossible to find an all original automaton of this class as most of them are in museum collections and never again available for the collector's market. - A tremendous and spectacular exhibition piece and collector's item of top museum quality! - (2-/2+) - € 20.000/30.000 - (182/2)
