H.G. WELLS Autograph Note Signed, "G.G. Wells," on stationery engraved, "Easton Glebe, Dunmow," no date, 8.75" x 7", Fine. The note says, in full: "Dear Sir Thank you. H.G. Wells." Light toning and creasing; two small tape hinges at lower edge. Wells was a novelist, sociological writer and historian. Although he wrote many books, he is best known for "The War of the Worlds" (1898); in a 1938 CBS radio broadcast, Orson Welles and his Mercury Theater players scared the wits out of many of the six million listeners who really thought that the Martians were landing.
