Appointing Mr. Hamilton Holt a member of the executive committee and Vice Chairman of its Paris Committee. "...The special purpose of the Paris Committee, which will sit from time to time during the Peace Conference and represent us...is two-fold: (1) to support the plans of the President...in behalf of a League of Nations and (2) to advise the New York office of the league of ways in which it can best support the movement in America." Taft refers to the Versailles peace conference, which ended World War I, but did not result in a League of Nations.
