Autographed Darryl Starbird Mattel Hot Wheels, Darryl Starbird's Lil Coffin
A 2000 Hot Wheels Convention exclusive die-cast car featuring Darryl Starbird's legendary custom build, the Lil Coffin - a transformed 1932 Ford sedan. This limited-edition piece was specially issued for the 14th Annual Hot Wheels Collectors Convention in Irvine, California, and was supported by the Hot Wheels Newsletter. Darryl Starbird's autograph appears in black ink on the front of the package. Rendered in 1:64 scale, this Lil Coffin model marks the second release in a commemorative two-car set created for the 2000 convention. The original full-sized custom car was first envisioned and built in 1957 by Starbird and collaborator Dave Stuckey, gaining iconic status in the custom car scene. In 1963, Monogram introduced a model kit version of the vehicle. The actual Lil Coffin is now part of the permanent collection at the National Rod and Custom Car Hall of Fame Museum in Afton, Oklahoma. The collector packaging showcases vibrant flame-themed artwork and official graphics from the 14th Annual event. Packaging only measures: 4.75"L x 2"W x 7.5"H. Dimensions are stated as approximate and may vary slightly.
