Autograph Letter Signed by three Union Army Generals. This lot features a one-page document, handwritten on the obverse and reverse, which recommends a Lt. Colonel Pinto for the position of Colonel. It measures 6" x 7.3", and is dated June 10, 1862. Three Union generals write a similar passage and then sign. This document is an amazing piece of history. Not only is it a piece of the Civil War, but it contains three high ranking, and famous, general's signatures all on one sheet of paper. The recommendation, according to Gen. W.B. Franklin, reads as follows, " fully concur in the opinions and views expressed by Gen. Slocum and Newton, and know that LtCol Pinto posess in a high degree the requisites for the command of a regiment. I cordially recommend him for the position of Colonel."

This document is in fine condition; all three sections are in great shape, with dark and crisp ink. It is nicely mounted on a back paper. This is a nice chance to own three different letters, written in three different hands, and all on the same page. Fantastic.
