Waterman albums were made by the L.E. Waterman Co. The purchasers of these albums were encouraged to acquire autographs, mount them into the album, and return it to the company as part of a contest. Includes: GEORGE GERSHWIN (1898-1937), composer; FRANKLIN D ROOSEVELT (1882-1945), President; WALTER P CHRYSLER (1875-1940), automobile manufacturer; Daniel C Beard (1850-1941), organized American Boy Scout movement (1910); Zane Grey (1875-1939), author; Hugo Eckener (1868-1954), German aeronaut; Robert Ripley (1893-1949), "Believe It Or Not"; Lawrence Tibbett (1896-1960), opera singer; Paul Muni (1896-1967), actor; Charles M Schwab (1862-1939), U.S. Steel; Philip K Wrigley (1894- 1977), Wrigley Gum, owner of Chicago Cubs; Eddie Cantor (1892-1964), comedian; Vilhjalmur Stefansson (1879-1962), Artic explorer; Ed Wynn (1886-1966), comedian; Harry S New (1858-1937), Postmaster General; Rube Goldberg (1883-1970), cartoonist, adds original sketch; Jack Benny (1894-1974), comedian; John Gilbert (1895-1936), actor; James Cagney (1899-1986), actor; etc. All signatures are mounted in album, on both sides of the pages.
