Huge collection of 16 hardcover autograph albums, containing approximately 900 vintage ink in-person signatures, many inscribed to Joe, with just about all single page and single sided. Many of the pages also bear small clipped photos of the respective signer. Highlights of the collection include: Marilyn Monroe, Marlon Brando, Humphrey Bogart, Judy Garland, Montgomery Clift, Frank Sinatra, Rock Hudson, Ronald Reagan, Paul Newman, Jackie Robinson, Dean Martin, Thomas Mitchell, Richard Burton, William Holden, Gregory Peck, Audie Murphy (2), Basil Rathbone, Grace Kelly, Groucho Marx, Ward Bond, Audrey Hepburn, Susan Hayward, Peter Lorre (2), Vivien Leigh and Laurence Olivier, Boris Karloff, Errol Flynn, Cary Grant, Natalie Wood, Nick Adams, John Wayne, Judy Holliday, Dorothy Dandridge, Orson Welles, Gary Cooper, Sal Mineo, Edith Piaf, Bert Lahr, John Garfield, Anna Magnani, Peter Lawford, and Harold Lloyd. In fine overall condition, with occasional mild toning and brushing, these in-person signatures are overall beautifully preserved. These albums originate from an in-person New York City collector who was active in the hobby from the 1950s to the 1970s. Eventually moving on to index cards, this offered ensemble stems from the beginning of his collection with a flattering array of 1950s stars. A remarkable collection, both in size and appeal, that would be difficult to duplicate. Click here for a more comprehensive list.
