Authentic Virginia City Montana Hangman's rope with letter: Rope is 3/4" thick and shows slip marks where it went over a tree limb or timber, has the traditional 13 coil noose and comes with the letter from grandson stating the history of the rope when it was passed to him from his grandfather, Frank Pangre, who lived in Virginia City from the 1890's into the 1900's, witnessed 3 hangings in Virginia City with this rope. Frank passed in the late 1930's. letter is signed and dated by his grandson, Walter D. Leclare, May 7, 2012

SHIPPING: After the purchase price has been paid in full and after the sale has been completed, property must be removed from the auction at the Buyer’s expense. The Auction Company will, as a service to Buyers, arrange to have the property packed, insured, and shipped at the request, expense and entire risk of the Buyer. Any claims will be between carrier and Buyer.
All shipping of merchandise purchases will be handled by Engel Auction Company Phone: 406-682-4499. All shipping and insurance charges will be charged to your credit card. Insurance is required.
FIREARMS: All modern firearms (post 1898) will be sold in compliance with Federal and State Firearms Laws. A $20 transfer fee will be charged to the buyer for each Long Gun and/or Hand Gun. Shipping and insurance charges are not included in the $20 transfer fee. The buyer is responsible for all shipping and insurance charges. All firearms will be shipped by a licensed FFL (Federal Firearms Licensee) to a licensed FFL. It is the responsibility of the buyer to fax his/her license and shipping information to Shobe Auction. 2. DISPUTES: The Auctioneers shall designate the winning bidder after each item is auctioned. If a dispute arises between two or more bidders, the Auctioneer reserves the right to reopen bidding. The Auctioneer's designation of a buyer shall be final.
3. BUYER'S RESPONSIBILITY: After a bidder has won the bid with his/her high bid, they have become the new owners of the item, even though they may not have paid for the item yet. The item becomes the full and sole responsibility of the Buyer at this point, and Buyer assumes all risk of loss and damage. The Auction Companies or Seller are not responsible to provide any type of protection or insurance on the item(s).
4. INJURY AND DAMAGE: Bidder acknowledges responsibility for any personal injury or property damage caused by the Bidder or his Agent, and further agrees to hold Auctioneers harmless from any personal injury to himself or his Agents and any property damage incurred on auction premises.
5. BIDDING & PRE-BIDDING: Engel Auction Company and United Country Shobe Auction & Realty are providing internet pre-auction and live bidding as a service to bidders. Bidders acknowledge and understand that this service may or may not function correctly the day of the auction. Under no circumstances shall a bidder have any claim against Engel Auction Company and United Country - Shobe Auction & Realty or anyone else if the internet service fails to operate correctly before or during the live auction. Engel Auction Company and United Country Shobe Auction & Realty will not be responsible for any missed bids from any source. Internet bidders who desire to make certain their bids are acknowledged should use the ICollector pre-bidding feature allowing them to leave their maximum bid 24 hours before the auction begins.
