Authentic Territory of New Mexico Mining Deed dated December 28, 1899, and hand-signed in ink, twice, by legendary Western lawman, Pat Garrett, releasing his interest in the “Monogram” mining claim, located in the Silver Hill Mining Districtof Otero County, NM Territory, for the sum of $6,250.00, with affixed gold notary seal and hand-signed in ink “Edward C. Wade”, Notary Public. The document itself is in overall very good + condition and is contained in a hard foliowith clear interior protective cover leaf. The front of the folio has a “window” displaying a photocopy of one of the more popular pictures of Garrett in a three-piece suit and bowler hat. In addition to his work in law enforcement, Patspeculated continually in real estate, mining and ranching interests which created wide swings in his financial situation throughout most of his life. His killing of Billy the Kid was not only controversial during his life, but remains anoften heatedly discussed topic still to this day as does the subject of who really killed him in 1908 and for what reason. A rare piece of early Western Americana worthy of inclusion in any serious public or private collection. Est.:
