Authentic Henry lever action rifle, .44 cal., 24” octagon barrel, blue finish, brass frame, wood stock, #10548. This gun is in overall very good untouched condition and came directly out of the family with letterstating: “This Henry lever action octagon barrel, serial #10548, has descended in my family from the late 1860’s. I have had the Henry in my possession since January 1979. That is the date of the death of my uncle,Rolland W. Swarthout, a descendent of the families that settled the San Bernardino Valley, Calif. Our family history includes the surnames of Holcomb and Tanner, part of the Mormon Battalion. Accompanying the Henry is an old Winchester Repeating Rifle ammunition box with green label containing several old Henry cartridges that have been with the gun for years (NOTE: see Lot 538 of this auction where this referenced box andcartridges are being offered for sale).
