Authentic Colt Walker martially inspected powder flask used during Walker era to the era of the 1st model Dragoon by U.S. forces. The flask body carries the legend “Colts patent” in a ribbon at the bottom portion of the flask. The hinged ballcover is marked Colts patent and flask shows both “W.A.T. and “K” inspections. The charger of the flask is a plunger style with the marked ball compartment identified as a Walker flask in Robin Rapley’s “Colt Percussion Accouterments” on page113. The Colts patent is in the shape of a shallow oval. These features all indicate early production in the Walker era. The flask remains in original good to very good condition with 30%-50% original lacquer and a tight seam. Inspectionsand markings are well defined. The flask shows a few minor dents and an old collection tag identifying it by numbers and catalog. Est.: $2000-$4000
