Very rare; we haven't offered this issued before. Inc. August 1881. No. 21, issued for 74,6000 shares to the executor of the Seth Cook Estate. Cook was one of the co-founders of the Bodie Railroad. Signed by president Charles Fish and the secretary. Punch cancelled signature. 4.25 x 9" Trimmed tight. The companies directors were H.G. Blasdel ( governor of Nevada, 1864-71), W.S. Wood, R.N. Graves, C.H.Fish and W.S.Willis. According to a lawsuit with the company, the mine was a "prospectus" claim in Esmeralda Mining District, Esmeralda County, Nevada. Located by E.T.Greenley in March 1877, then given to his brother James, who sold it to H.G.Blasdel in 1880.
