Location:6270 Este Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio, 45232, United States
silver-plated nickel pinback, six-pointed star, 2.5" diameter, with Aurora, Special Police. S.D. Childs & Co. Chicago on verso. Older pin construction, with pin having a loop of wire as a spring, and a thin plate of the same material as the badge soldered over it.

Aurora, CO is the third most populous city in the state. It was originally the town of Fletcher, named for a Denver businessman who staked a claim to 4 square miles east of Denver. But when the economy crashed with silver in 1893, Fletcher skipped town leaving a large debt. The residents voted to rename it Aurora in 1907 and it was incorporated as a city in 1929. The town benefited in the 1920s by being selected as a site for treatment of soldiers wounded in WWI (especially those affected by mustard gas), and Fitzsimons Army Hospital was established. The Army Air Corps built Buckley Field during WWII. Although it has gone through several name changes, Buckley Air Force Base is still an important part of Aurora's economy, as is the complex of health care facilities around Fitzsimons.
