<B>Augustus Saint Gaudens Signed Check, </B></I>2.75" x 7.25", drawn on the Fifth Avenue Bank of New York City for $1 payable to an "<I>H.L. Rockwood</B></I>", July 7, 1905, endorsed and stamped on the verso. Light staining, else fine condition. Saint Gaudens was a prominent American public sculptor during the Gilded Age. Notable examples of his work include the $20 U.S. gold coin that debuted in 1907 and Boston's monument to Robert Gould Shaw, colonel of the famed 54th Massachusetts during the Civil War.
