Inscription on reverse reads, "This picture was originally given to Miss
Kathleen Herbert (of Macroom, Co Cork) by Augustus John when they were fellow
students at the Slade. Miss Herbert later married the artist Herbert Everett and
wrote the book Bricks & Flowers. [Signed] Arthur Fortescue, 29.1.62".
