After the liberation of Mexico was secured, he was proclaimed Constitutional Emperor of the new nation. Manuscript DS, in Spanish, one page, 8.25 x 11.75, February 23, 1822. Untranslated document signed by de Iturbide as president of the provisional government, and less than five months prior to becoming Emporer. In fine condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, and small tears and paper loss to left edge.
