Dateline San Francisco, December 18, 1863. Incorporated October 1863. Location: Augusta Mining District, Lander Co., N. T. Lodes are listed: Euphoma, Lillie, Zora, Rosalie, Wilhelmina, Frances, Esther, Willifred, Annke and Margarita. Vignette shows ten ladies (as in the names?) mostly semi-nude. Not cancelled. Small 5c and 20c revenue stamps. Britton & Co. printer. Two folds. No edge, corner or pinhole issues. Todd and Welton (1866) placed the historic Augusta district in this area, east of the present Bernice district. The General Land Office map (1866) shows the Augusta district to cover most of the central Clan Alpine Mountains, including Augusta Canyon and the present Tungsten Mountain district. The Tungsten Mountain district extends north into Humboldt County, covering the mountains along county line, north of the Augusta Mountains and east of Humboldt Salt Marsh.
