Original 2.5 x 4 carte-de-visite photo of Kautz in uniform by an anonymous studio, signed below the image in black ink, “August Kautz, Brig. Gen & Bvt. Maj General U.S. Vols, May 1865.” In fine condition, with a bit of scattered light surface and edge wear.
