August 7, 1776 Issue of The Pennsylvania Gazette Containing the Freshest Advices, Foreign and Domestic. This four-page Philadelphia newspaper was published in the city of and just over a month after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Interestingly, it has two Ordinances on the front page signed in type by Declaration Signer George Ross as vice president of the first Continental Congress. Contains news and opinion as well as many interesting ads including reward notices for missing slaves, servants, and horses. The desirable and historic date coupled with a nice woodcut in the masthead make this paper very displayable. Separated at the spine and a bit rough at the edges affecting no text, fine overall.

Shipping: Small Flat (view shipping information)
