It is a pleasurec to offer a pewter charger from Ausburg. To the front is engraved a monarch , enthroned with crown upon his head and to the left in a shield what appears to be an eagle, somewhat similar to the alter Prussian eagle, to the right also in shield is what appears to be an artichoke on plith.

Sourounding the plate is a design finally engraved.

Not having a pewter reference text I cannot identify the marks to the reverse with any accuracy, and our dating of this piece is based on our belief alone. The plate may well be much older than we have indicated or slightly younger.
One mark appears to be a crowned double headed eagle (similar to the arms of Austria)Another mark is similar to S.W. E.E.INZIN. (in lozenge) and the other mark is the S.W. E.E, in SZIN repeated.
