Audubon ''Owl'' 1972
"WINNERS WILL BE NOTIFIED AFTER THE AUCTION ENDS BY THE AUCTIONEER ONCE ALL BIDS HAVE BEEN PROCESSED TO DETERMINE THE WINNER FOR EACH LOT."
John James Audubon's ''Long-Eared Owl'' #383 from the Amsterdam edition of Audubon's ''Birds of America,'' published in 1972. The book made Audubon a premiere wildlife artist who set a standard that persists even today and made him the measure of all bird artists. All 435 full-size color plates were published and limited to only 250 numbered sets. The copy used to reproduce these prints were taken from the Telyer's Museum in Holland. Long-eared owl measures 26.5'' x 39.5'', with 12-color offset lithography. Image contains slight horizontal wrinkling and slight chips to the edges, otherwise excellent condition.
