From the first edition of The Birds of America. Matted and framed to an overall size of 29¾" x 39¼". A couple of tiny toned specks in upper background, else extremely fine.

The Birds of America was published in London 1827-1838, containing 435-handcolored aquatint engravings illustrating 1,065 birds of 489 species, printed on dated "J. Whatman" watermarked paper. Each of the four volumes weighed close to 70 pounds.
