John James Audubon, 1971-72. ''351 Great Cinereous Owl'' sheet. Full-color image of the Audubon-painted owl, perched on a deadwood branch against some white puffy clouds in a baby blue sky, measures approximately 23.5'' x 36.5''. In October 1971, employing the most faithful printing methods available, the Amsterdam firm of Theatrum Orbis Terrarum Ltd., in conjunction with the Johnson Reprint Corporation of New York, set out to produce the finest limited edition facsimile of Audubon's renowned bird book: the Havell edition of James Audubon's ''Birds of America.'' This print is from that collection. A beautiful, elegant, rolled print fit for framing in very good condition.
