Audrey Hepburn's Personally Owned Bakelite Smoking Stem From The Joe Franklin Memory Lane Collection W/LOA - This bakelite smoking stem was personally owned by legendary Golden Era film and fashion icon, Audrey Hepburn. Hepburn began her career at the age of 21, working as a model. She was noticed by French novelist Collette, who cast her in her Broadway play of "Gigi". She went on to star in her first feature film "Roman Holiday" in 1953, and became the first actress to win an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a BAFTA Award for a single performance, skyrocketing her to stardom. She remains one of only 12 people who have won Academy, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Awards. The smoking stem was acquired from the personal collection of radio and talk show host Joe Franklin, and was given to him personally by Audrey when she appeared on his radio show to talk in 1961 to promote her latest film, "Breakfast at Tiffany's". The piece will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Joe Franklin. Franklin had a love of collecting mementos from his guests, and would ask each guest to leave him a personal item, many of which would oblige.
