Audie Murphy Pants from Duel at Silver Creek
This western pants was worn by the character “Luke Cromwell” AKA “The Silver Kid,” portrayed by legendary war hero turned actor Audie Murphy, in the 1952 motion picture, “The Duel At Silver Creek.” The black and white speckled period pants was custom made for use by Mr. Murphy and have the original Acuna tailor's label sewn inside with the name “Audy (sic) Murphy” and production date “11-51” handwritten in slightly faded ink. In the film, Mr. Murphy portrays a fast drawing gambler who joins forces with the local sheriff to fight off a gang of unscrupulous claim jumpers that are terrorizing the local mining operations. “The Duel at Silver Creek” was Audie Murphy's ninth film in a series of Western roles and also featured an early performance by fellow war veteran turned actor Lee Marvin. The garment is in vintage screen worn condition with minor evidence of age and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
