Printed by Southern Bank Note Company (the New Orleans branch of ABNCo), this note was part of a four subject / four denomination sheet. Notes were issued from January 8, 1862 until May 15, 1862 with only 14,860 notes being issued when production was abruptly halted by the fall of New Orleans to a Union naval task force at the end of April, 1862.
