***Auction Highlight*** NGC 1801 Lm-2 R4 Draped Bust Half Dime 1/2 10c Graded vf30 By NGC. Up for Auction is a Fantastic 1801 Draped Bust Half Dime. It is ridiculously under graded. I have included pictures of a cac vf35 and a pcs xf40. Ours is clearly better than the vf35 and equal to or better in many regards than the xf40. One of the most horribly undergraduate coins I've seen. Easy upgrade at PCGS IMHO. This LM-2 example is struck with an early state of the dies, without the massive cracks and crumbling obverse die that characterize later die states. All 1801 half dimes are scarce, yet the date is not fully appreciated for its scarcity compared to others in the series. This example is glossy and well-struck on both sides of the coin. Vestiges of a full strike are visible in Liberty's hair and especially in and around the eagle's wings on the reverse. The surfaces are smooth and attractive, richly toned with bronze like hues, apple-green, and golden highlights.
